Unlocking the Empowering Mindset to Achieve Your Dreams

Welcome to this week's blog! We prepare to elevate our motivation and drive as we approach the New Year and Christmas. Soon it will be the new year, and we will start afresh. Also, the longest night of the year is approaching. Those of us with Persian heritage continue to celebrate this occasion, which occurs a few nights before Christmas. Some believe this tradition originates from our pagan religions, symbolizing the triumph of the angel of light over darkness and the end of a dark era. This concept is exactly what we need to boost our motivational energy and ward off negative thoughts.

Since it’s the festive season, I’ve chosen a special track to set the mood: Noel at Balkan by the talented Rene Aubry. It’s a beautiful piece that reminds me of the warmth and joy this season brings. So, grab a cup of tea, take a deep breath, and let’s dive into today’s topic: The Empowering Mindset.

Introduction: What is the Empowering Mindset?

The empowering mindset is an essential energy booster that fuels our motivational energy. We must understand its purpose to apply it effectively.

We’ve discussed identity before, emphasizing that we must embody what we want to become. There’s no need to wait to become a successful person — we must be that person now. Success-related attributes such as wealth or recognition are by-products of this being, not the starting point.

This is why we focus on designing our identity. In Plan Be coaching sessions, we explore what it means to change our identity, starting with self-awareness and conducting a gap analysis to identify where we need improvement. This includes working on traits, insights, and values while elevating our integrity.

==============================================================================

In Plan Be coaching sessions, we explore how to design and develop a new identity. This process starts with:

  • Self-awareness: Understanding where we are and where we want to go.

  • Gap analysis: Identifying traits, skills, and insights we need to bridge the gap.

==============================================================================

The journey takes time and requires motivational energy to keep us on track, ensuring we don’t fall into negative thought patterns or waste energy. Negative self-talk is ever-present, waiting to convince us that we’ll never reach our goals. Since the journey might take years, we must stay strong, positive, and determined.

The Remedy:

  • Motivational Energy Motivational energy keeps us focused and prevents frustration. We boost this energy by improving both our physical and mental states:

  • Physical energy: Hydration, movement, and sufficient sleep.

  • Mental energy: Mindfulness, positive self-talk (ROAR), and rest.

This journey is not easy, nor is it instant. It requires patience, persistence, and, most importantly, motivational energy. Why? Because negativity is always lurking around the corner. It thrives when you feel tired, frustrated, and doubtful.

If you let negativity win, you enter what I call the vicious circle:

  • Negative thoughts lead to inactivity.

  • Inactivity causes low energy.

  • Low energy leads to less work and fewer results.

  • This reinforces the negative thoughts!

The solution? Motivational energy.

Let’s explore how the empowering mindset fuels that energy.

The 5 Elements of an Empowering Mindset

The empowering mindset is built on five key elements:

  1. Milestones and Small Objectives: By breaking your goals into long-term, mid-term and short-term objectives and similarly to the manageable milestones. we will be able to gamify the Progress and feel the sense of achievement.

  2. Celebrating Success: Success isn’t just the end goal. Celebrate where you were and where you are now. Reflecting on progress inspires confidence and recharges your energy. every milestone, will be pushing you one step closer. visualise the target is getting close to you with each milestone and celebrate this with a mindful appreciation of your effort and the identity you are building in your arsenal of consciousness and subcounsciousness. you can also add an NLP anchor to that moment(combination of words, gesture, visual or olfactory sense). with that note you can also add an Incantation to that celebration of success

  3. Incantations (Smart Positive Affirmations): Incantations are affirmations but not just repeating positive words. you might find them dilusional if just repeat I am wealthy or I am confident when you are not. the idea behind Incantation is to remind ourselves of the identity we are building within us. Instead of just saying, “I am confident,” you repeat phrases that reinforce your new identity with energy and conviction. For example:

    • “I have full control over my life, and I am moving closer to my dreams every day.”

    • “Step by Step I am being stronger, more confident, and capable of achieving anything I set my mind to.”

Say these words with energy—after exercise, during brisk walks, or any time you feel energized. It’s not about pretending but acknowledging the truth of who you are becoming. (as explained in point 5, again use these uforia moments to also perpetuate and NLP anchor to resonate the sense of power, confidence and motivation)

  4. Visualisation:

Visualisation involves picturing your future self. Where will you be in one year? Two years? Imagine it vividly—feel the emotions, hear the sounds, see the successes.

Neuroscience shows that visualising your goals imprints them on your subconscious mind, especially when done during relaxation (Alpha brainwave state). This prepares your mind and body to achieve your goals on autopilot.

We need to develop our vision where we have reached the long-term milestones and objectives. How does it look? Where do you see yourself? What do you do? Try to visualise the details. If it is difficult, try to visit the places you want to be, the car you want to drive, the role models and quality of life, being and activity of those role models you want to have.

the best time for visualization, as explained, is when you are preparing to relax or go to sleep, or when you just wake up. These are the times when the brain is still in the Alpha mode and has not yet started to be engaged in the day-to-day surge of thoughts. Especially if you do this before sleep, the brain will take the idea to its deeper level (the surface sleep mode or Theta mode, or even deeper in the Delta mode). These are the states of the brain where the thoughts are becoming part of our subconscious. We will discuss the power of the subconscious in another post. Suffice it to say that anything built in the subconscious becomes a norm, and the brain increases the level of readiness, motivation, and reception to any idea or opportunity that provides that idea in its actuality and physical form.

  5. NLP Anchoring Techniques:

    1. Anchoring, a powerful tool from Neuro-Linguistic Programming, links a specific action (like a gesture, word, or scent) to a positive emotional state. For example:

      • During a moment of success or energy, clench your fist and say, “I am unstoppable!”

      • Use a deep voice or different way of saying to make it distinguishable. If you can, add an olfactory dimension to it, such as sniffing a favorite perfume, etc.

      • Repeat this each time you find yourself in the same situation (success moment or high level of energy) until the gesture becomes associated with the feeling of motivation.

      • After a few repetitions, the anchor establishes itself. Now, whenever you want to add to your motivational energy and bring the same mood, just trigger the anchor!

Just like Pavlov’s dog salivated at the sound of a bell, your mind will trigger motivation whenever you use your anchor.

Your Turn: Building Empowering Habits

Here’s what I want you to do this week:

  1. Morning Ritual: Pick the time of day when you feel the most energetic (after a walk or workout) and practice incantations. Write down a few empowering mantras and say them aloud with conviction. For example:

    • “I am building my dream life step by step, every day.”

    • “I am confident, strong, and focused.”

  2. Guided Relaxation & Visualisation: Before bed, spend 5 minutes in guided meditation. Visualise your success: where you are, what you’ve achieved, and how it feels. Let this image soak into your subconscious as you drift off to sleep.

you can also visualise the new identity of yours. how you are communicating how you behave.

Let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear about your experiences. like I said the power of subcounscious is immense and it deserve to have a separate blog post to talk about. so with that note I leave this to another time :)
